I would like to do something different with musical theatre�something revolutionary. Something like what Bob and David do with all the musical stuff on Mr. Show crossed with the kind of music being produced by Rufus Wainwright and The Magnetic Fields, if that makes any sense. I want to do a musical that�s hip and would speak to people who like indie rock and sophisticated interesting comedy. Urinetown and Batboy are hip postmodern musicals but they still are primarily for fans of musical theatre. I want to do for musical theatre now what rock opera did for it in the 70�s, although in style I�d want it to be the antithesis of rock opera. God I wish I could write music. I need to find me a good partner. Too bad Alamada moved to Brooklyn.
