Heres what Ive listened to so far today: 1) Jeff Buckley 2) Neil Young 3) Joni Mitchell 4) The Gossip 5) The Rapture 6) The Who I love Music. I love that something can move me so much that Ill just burst into tears right in the middle of a public placenot even because of anything personal being evoked. The last minute and a half or so of Baba OReily just got the better of me on the bus to work today. It is so fucking brilliant. That guitar solo and then descending into that weird old fashioned Almost old Europe sounding jig thingiedo you know what Im talking about? Its so incredibly ingenious that tears started rolling down my face. I mean, Ive heard that song a gazillion times and yet Im still moved by it. Anyway Last night after acting class I took myself over to the Middle East to have a PBR and some fries and study my script. No sooner do I sit down at the fucking bar than a guy asks if he can sit next to me. Now its very obvious that although I am alone, I am busy. I have my script out, which I am reading intently, and my highlighter and a pen for making notes. So the guy sits down and asks if he can buy me a beer and I say no thanks. I turn away and bury my head in the script. So then he squeezes my thigh and asks me if he can buy me a shot so I slam down the PBR on the bar and I pretty much shout, No, you fucking cant.. Then, I leave and because its cold and Im in a pissed off bitter mood and dont feel like taking the bus, I grab a cab back to Allston. I get so much unwanted attention and cant get enough attention from the people I want it from. Isnt that always the way? Why do people have to be such assholes? In the meantime, I had called Angus and left a message that I would probably be at the Middle East if he wanted to join me later. So I get home and Lynn tells me that Angus just left to go to The Middle East. Whoops. Dont you hate it when evenings are ruined by stupid bullshit? However, I did receive the following in the mail yesterday: The entire series run of The State and four tapes worth of Bob Odenkirk and David Cross stuff including appearances on late night TV, stand up stuff, etc. So when Angus got home, he and I watched the first Bob/David tape and giggled ferociously until we went to bed. All was not lost.
