So I sent my pal Joe the rock critic/author of pop culture history books my band�s CD, and here is what he wrote back:

I listened to the CD and thought it was fantastic! The thing that hit me w/ in the first few notes o' the opening track was how great a PRESENCE your voice is...and having been deprived of that presence for a couple years now, it hit me almost like a revelation. I totally see the Airplane Marty/Grace thing...I always thought the Jeff Airplane was the THIRD coolest American group o' the sixties (behind the Sonics and VU). And other faves include X n' Love Child...the male/female dynamic has always worked for me...and you guys got it in spades. I realize these are just raw-hewn recordings, not meant to be representative of anything other than the germination of an IDEA� I know this group, once y' get it goin', won't just fade into the ether�Did I also mention I LOVE the guitar sound? And tho' these 're just PLANKS upon which t' build yer inevitable fortress, I seriously can HEAR the songs w/ the full Dream Syndicate/Airplane/Velvets/X orchestrations that they inevitably deserve...I can hear it like an oceanic prelude to a whole new age. Seriously, hearing this stuff I now suddenly realize...this stuff is more animated, less folkie [than your last band]. What can I say? I loved it.

It�s frustrating to have to wait a couple weeks for the first gig. We are so absolutely killer�so fucking beyond the pale all around amazing that we are going to blow you the fuck away. No joke.

Matt is a star. This is totally egotistical but I feel like I have met someone who absolutely matches me. We are magic together. And Kara is a stoic gorgeous bass player with a third harmony voice. And then there�s the other peeps we are solidifying as we speak�

So come to the Skybar on Saturday April 10th and be blown to bits.
