Babies, Ive been bad about updating lately. Busy. Happy. Things are good. Things are ridiculously good. Opening night of Company is Friday. Not that I can be really objective but overall its an excellent production and I really hope people come see it. Cabaret was good , but this is far stronger in many respects, and acting wise it is hands down the best work I have ever done. Brutal fucking cathartic shit. Im ripping open my chest and tearing out my heart for all to see. And for me thats what being truly alive is about. Life on stage often feels so much more real and visceral than real life (eg wasting 8 hours a day behind a desk. God I cant wait til I dont have to that anymore.) I am entirely immersed in the show right now. Every waking moment more or less is about this play (though I did take myself to the movies yesterdayKill Bill Volume IIfucking AWESOME. I liked it as much as I liked Pulp Fiction. Maybe more. One of the best love stories Ive ever seen. And the fightingYow!) This character I play in Company is so frighteningly similar to me in so many ways, although our surface personalities are completely different. And her relationship with her husband is something I am basing acting wise on a past relationship of mine. Its always interesting to wade through the murk of personal disaster in the context of artistic expression. Anyway, come see the show. You wont be sorry.
