Considering that I didn�t go to bed until 4AM, I surprised myself to have woken up so bright and early on a Saturday morning.

Tonight I�m having a dinner party. And I am serving the following:

Chicken breast stuffed with gouda and prosciutto

Asparagus

Goat cheese and garlic mashed potatoes

Peasant bread

Chocolate truffles

Cranberry bread (courtesy of Jessie)

Lots and lots and lots of wine

I am so excited about the guest list. Giallo is coming up from out of town and Jessie and Debbie will be there too (and maybe Buddy L. Savage if he ever gets back to me)

This is a fluff entry I suppose. Let me leave you with something I read last night which made me laugh and laugh and laugh:

Try to imagine, then, the collector�s ultimate nightmare: Your collection is stolen or destroyed. San Diego resident Glen Offield confronted the unthinkable in 1992. What happened sounds like the invention of a tabloid newspaper writer with a wicked imagination, yet it�s all true: his million dollar Barbie collection was stolen and held hostage by the kingpin of a drug and gay-pornography ring. Among the five thousand dolls were some one-of-a-kind prototypes. The �kidnapper� stashed the goods in self-storage, then tried to cover his tracks by torching the house where the collection originated. His goal: unload the booty on some rich Japanese in order to revitalize his failing finances.

Needless to say, Offield was devastated. He beseeched readers of the Los Angeles Times, �They meant everything to me. I could do without eating. I don�t know if I could live without them [the Barbie dolls.]� He eventually recovered his treasure, but only after the death of the perpetrator from an overdose.
