Jonee just sent me this information and it�s worthy of everyone�s attention. If you are a Boston resident and don�t want to see this city continue to turn into the gentrified bourgeois, anti-rock �n� roll yuppy and soccer mom haven it�s fast becoming, take note of the following transcribed from Jonee�s email:

Jacques Caberet is in need of our support! The club�s neighbors are trying to get it closed down and have its license revoked. The neighbors do not want a drag club in their neighborhood and claim that crime and prostitution is associated with the club. Jacques has been having punk shows for years now and if you haven't been there it is a great place to hang out, drink cheap beer, play pinball and remember why you started liking punk rock in the first place- to experience life outside main stream culture....

There is a hearing TUESDAY FEBRUARY FOURTH @ 6 PM ABOUT JACQUES LICENSE AND THEY NEED PEOPLE THERE FOR PUBLIC SUPPORT!!!

Jacques has a special place in my heart as my former band performed there with the multi-talented Boston institution, Rick Berlin on several occasions. But beyond my personal feelings about it, Jacques is an institution for the Boston gay, punk, and remotely counter culture communities.

Tell everyone you know about the above meeting. Maybe we can start some kind of a letter writing campaign as well, or hold a protest? I don�t know. But I don�t wanna see Jacque�s disappear.
